Pooja Tolani
Her transformation from an ambitious student of marketing and advertising to a leading meditation advocate reflects a deep commitment to personal growth and a sincere desire to create positive change in the world. After discovering the transformative power of meditation through the Art of Living and the teachings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1999, Pooja began integrating these practices into her own life, which led her to a profound sense of purpose. By 2001, she had fully committed herself to sharing this knowledge with others, becoming an Art of Living Instructor and skillfully blending ancient wisdom with modern approaches to well-being.
Her extensive global experience, from rural villages in India to major European cities, and across North and Central America, speaks to the universal relevance of these teachings. Over the years, she has reached thousands of individuals in diverse settings including corporations, universities, and government institutions, helping people manage stress and improve overall well-being. She has also organized large-scale meditation and wellness events around the world, bringing together between 1,000 and 10,000 participants in celebration and connection.
Pooja has taught meditation and breathwork to prison inmates in India and Bulgaria, helping them move beyond anger, frustration, regret, guilt, and the desire for revenge, and supporting their reintegration into society. From working with some of the most challenging groups to navigating complex environments, her work reflects both compassion and resilience.
Between 2015 and 2019, Pooja and her team organized Yogathon in Calgary, gathering more than 600 participants on one of the city’s busiest streets for the largest outdoor yoga event in Calgary. The event raised funds to support free education for children in India.
She is frequently invited to speak at conferences, women’s gatherings, and community events, where she shares insights on peace, well-being, mental health, and stress-free living.
Today, together with her husband Bhavesh Tolani, she trains new meditation teachers. Their role goes beyond instruction. They mentor and guide with the intention of creating a ripple effect, nurturing leaders who will continue spreading peace, mindfulness, and wellness in their communities.
Their work extends far beyond meditation; it is a transformative force that continues to change lives, one breath at a time. Made possible through the teachings of Gurudev and the Art of Living Foundation.
