Join our transformative Counsellor in Training (CIT) Program— a powerful journey where teens grow into confident leaders through hands-on learning, mentorship, and meaningful personal development.

The Counsellor in Training Program is a transformative leadership experience that helps participants transition from campers to confident future staff members. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and daily practices that support self-awareness and personal growth, CITs develop the tools they need to succeed in leadership roles—at camp and beyond.

Program Dates : Friday, June 26 to July 19, 2025

What Will CITs Gain and Experience

Wisdom & Service

CITs take part in daily practices such as pranayama, meditation, and yoga, strengthening self-awareness, resilience, and emotional balance. These practices help them shift from “What can I get?” to “How can I contribute?”—a powerful foundation for authentic leadership.

Personal Growth

Through the blend of training, mentorship, and spiritual/self-reflective practices, CITs develop:

• Confidence
• Responsibility
• Empathy
• Self-awareness

These qualities help them thrive at camp and in everyday life.

Leadership Development

Interactive workshops build essential leadership skills:

• Clear communication
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Conflict resolution
• Problem-solving and decision-making

CITs learn to identify their leadership style and adapt to different environments and situations.

Hands-On Training

CITs learn by doing. They shadow experienced counselors and help facilitate daily activities, games, and events. Rotating among different age groups and program areas ensures a well-rounded, practical leadership experience.

Camper Safety & Supervision

Safety training equips CITs with the knowledge and confidence to support younger campers. They explore:

• Child development basics
• Behavior management
• Safety and supervision protocols

Mentorship & Feedback

A dedicated CIT Coordinator and experienced staff offer ongoing guidance, reflection sessions, and supportive feedback to help CITs grow throughout the program.

Event Planning & Leadership

CITs contribute ideas and assist in planning and running camp-wide events—an opportunity to put their leadership skills into action in a fun, meaningful way.

Program Completion

Upon completion, CITs receive a Leadership Certificate or Letter of Reference, providing a meaningful credential and a stepping stone toward future roles in youth leadership, camps, and other service-oriented fields. - Step Up. Stand Out. Lead On.
